Declared Filthy in 20 Countries. It’s Time. To Face. Lady GaGa!

As many of you will know I’ve been testing out the Peter Dickson Pocket Announcer iPhone app for Quapps.
Recently one of the directors at Tulip Radio got an iPhone and he knew I’d received the app for testing so he wanted to know what it did.
So I hooked it up to our monitors in the radio studio and played him some sentences I’d made up. I added the beginning of a track by the artist, and hey presto, Peter Dickson had entered our radio studio!
Here are some samples:

Tulip Radio Mobile – the iPhone Web App
Feb 20th
A while ago I started to develop the Tulip Radio Mobile site. Aimed at smart phone users, like the iPhone, it will provide information about the station on an easy to read format compared to the desktop version of the website.
Last night I recreated the site in an iPhone Web App style with the help of a document from O’Reilly Labs. Tonight the web app is now available to view.
The site has been designed for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch, however it is believed that the site will also display correctly on many other devices.
When iPhone/iPod Touch users visit the site and add it to their home screen they will even get a small icon which gives quick access to site.
So get on your mobile device right now and visit http://tulip-radio.org/mobile and send me some feedback!
Note: images are only representative and created using the PhoneGap Simulator. However the general layout is similar.
Dev notes: There is a known issue with schedule page where the current on air presenter may not be correct.
My App’s Better Than Your App! *Updated
Feb 11th

Last week I announced that I was to be part of the Beta testing team for a new iPhone Application from the Quapps team. So since Sunday I’ve downloading and updating my iPod Touch with the app ‘Peter Dickson’s Pocket Announcer’.
I’ve been sending Will Robert at Quapps any information of bugs that I’ve found and some suggestions. Apparently all the suggestions from the Beta Users have been added to the application.
I’d like to thank Will for sending out prompt updates on the application and for giving myself and all the other testers a chance to be part of this exciting project.
Want to know more about the app? Well here’s an extract from a blog post from Will @ Quapps.
The most loved voice in the universe is now available on your iPhone & iPod Touch.
Peter Dickson or VoiceOver man as he is commonly known is the voice behind E4 and your most loved TV programs including X-Factor, Family Fortunes, Chris Moyles Quiz Night and a zillion other TV and Radio shows…pretty much every popular show out there.
This application is currently awaiting review with Apple
His most recognised vocal style is as an announcer and this is the basis of our application.
We have worked closely with Peter to create a ton of original content to be used within this application only including single words, phrases, prank calls, alarm wake up calls and ringtones.
This is not just a soundboard! We take the soundboard principal and completely transform it setting a new standard for audio based applications on the AppStore.
Infact, a soundboard is just one of the 6 sections of this application.
You can read more of this post on the Quapps Blog.
So hopefully the app should be in the App Store in the next month.
Until then, myself and the other testers are going to continue giving more feedback on the ‘final version’. I’ve already sent some more bugs that I’ve found!
Update: App now live in the Apple iTunes App Store!
The app is now available from the Apple App Store for £1.19 and for the iPhone, iPod Touch and (yes) the iPad.
You can download it here: http://bit.ly/cTfyPi
Don’t forget to review and rate it if you do buy it!
