Let It Shine! *Updated Audio

Well today the sun has certainly shown it’s face in South Lincolnshire! It means that summer is on its way. As I type this I’m listening to ‘One Day Like This’ by Elbow, which I think is a great track for the summer mornings.
Seeming as we’re talking about lights and things that shine. Watch this.
Recognise the song? It’s a jazzed up version of This Little Light of Mine, which is a song that you may have sung in Primary School.
Well this morning at KingsGate in Peterborough we had the pleasure of hearing Andy Hawthorne speak. He’s from The Message Trust in Manchester and he showed us this video.
These guys are hoping to spread the word of the Holy Gospel and Jesus across the nation by releasing this (catchy) track. The video has already been approved for distribution by Universal Music across the UK. So you could start seeing it on channels like MTV and 4Music!
They want to get it into the charts and I think they’ve got a real chance.

The video itself I believe is well put together and is of professional quality as well, so I was interested in posting it as a matter of media interest.
Not Your Usual Combination: Curry & Songs Of Praise

This weekend, KingsGate Community Church is hosting two great events.
Tomorrow evening I’m going to a Men’s Curry Night.
There will be loads of guys, lots of curry and Paul Scanlon giving us a great message for the evening.
I don’t particularly mind curry, however I do not eat rice, so it should be an interesting evening.
On Sunday the second of two Songs of Praise episodes that were recorded at KingsGate in June 2009 .
Following the 1 hour live service broadcast on Sunday 31st May, the BBC recorded two episodes of Songs Of Praise.
This second one is about the national diversity that happens at KingsGate and there is footage from the International Food Evening that took place at the back end of 2009.
So the KingsGate Songs Of Praise episode is on Sunday 31st January at 4:55pm on BBC One. I will no doubtingly post the BBC iPlayer link on here and Twitter, so look out for it.

This post is a bit old, but today at KingsGate we reviewed the life of the Church in 2009, and one of the fantastic events I was proud to be involved with was the BBC One live broadcast of KingsGate Community Church on Pentecostal Sunday. It was a live one hour broadcast from the venue in Peterborough.
The amazing thing was that the next morning, Chris Moyles spent over six minutes talking about what he’d seen on the programme.
